As a neurodivergent individual, Joe has spent much of his life trying to understand his strengths and needs, and ways to support himself. As a neurodivergent speech-language pathologist, Joe works with neurodivergent individuals, their families, and those systems and institutions with whom they come into contact. The episodes in this podcast will review topics related to neurodivergence, including: Pathological Demand Avoidance, Neurodivergent Girls and Women, Parenting Neurodivergent Individuals, Regulation, Identity, etc.

We are in a time of unprecedented disruption in our lives. It can feel at times, like danger lurks everywhere. Because of this, we are experiencing anxiety, stress, and disconnection. This podcast will discuss how at a deep level, we need to feel connected to others, we need a sense of safety, to help us to feel like we are thriving, resilient and can deal with the stressors of these times. We need connection and safety to help activate our immune system; and when we don't have them, our sense of danger will actually work against our immune system.
